I choose Marriott hotel because Marriott is one of the largest company in tourism industry. The hotels are available in more than 70 countries and it reaches many market segmentations especially for business travelers.

Marriott develops free mobile application which can make the customers easily get information, make hotel reservations at more than 3,600 hotels and resorts in 70 countries from anywhere anytime, and they also can plan their trips through this mobile application. This application also enables the customers to find the nearest Marriott Hotel with GPS functionality. Marriott has invested in this application in order to grab customers easily because these days everyone has a smart phone so basically the company want to make a practical access for the customer. This mobile service can improve the hotel service because the customers do not have to call the hotel or go to travel agency to get information and make hotel reservations. There are also other features like browsing exciting hotel photo tours, amenities, city guides, maps and more. This mobile application also enables the customers to earn point rewards from the Marriott reward account.

Marriot hotel use this strategic plan to grab more customers because the more the hotel gets customers, the more they can earn more profits. This mobile application also can improve the hotel efficiency and effectiveness.

  1. Correct to say that if the hotel to use of GPS system, so that customers can more easily find the location of the hotel.

    There is you mentioned that the customer through the GPS to find the hotel and can quickly view information about the hotel, then I can be understood as your mean is that the customer will directly to contact the hotel rather than to through the travel agency.

    If this is the case, then I can be understood as this strategy only for high-end customers or some brand loyalty crowd.

    So, it really can improve customer satisfaction and choice.

  2. To Marriott hotel, seldom hotels have same scale and extensive distribution to compare with it. It has its official website for consumers to book or just browse the pictures of rooms, facilities or resorts' scenery.

    The unique application Marriott hotel invest can improve hotel's sustainable development. It helps Marriott hotel build brand awareness in this field. In addition, the application, especially GPS system can solve emergencies when tourists stay in the hotels, such as tourists are lost in the surroundings.

    I believe this hotel also have intranet system for staff management and communications between different departments which you don't mention.

    If I'm a tourist want to make a reservation on this website, I want to know whether I can have more promotions and benefits than that I can get from other travel agencies. Actually, I really wanna try this hotel, if chance permits.
